Not boring New Year’s Eve party for two

Celebrate / Saturday, January 6th, 2018

New Year is almost here! Sometimes we do not have any certain plans for the night, or we simply prefer to spend it with our better half. If you are like me and want to make the night really special (without spending a ton of time and money for planning) then keep reading!

New Year’s Eve is a very important night for me. It is the time when I look back to the previous year, thinking what I planned and what I achieved, and planning the coming year.

I believe the New Year’s night is a family time. Since childhood, we had a tradition spending this special night with a family dinner, making wishes, congratulating each other, watching thematic TV programmes.

Now I have my own family, and I want to make this night special for both of us.

There are many ways to celebrate New Year: with parents, at a restaurant, with a group of friends. For this year I do not want any of this options. Instead, I want to stay at home with my husband and keep this moment just for two of us.

The average plan consists of:

1. Eating dinner

2. Saying “Happy NewYear” at 00:00.

3. Continue watching TV programmes.

Isn’t that so boring?

I want to make memorable moments for our family, but at the same time, I’m so much late to plan anything outside our apartment. So, if there is someone like me, keep reading, I will try to find a few ways, that will rescue your boring party of two.

The first idea that comes to my mind is a movie marathon night. You choose what to watch with your spouse: whether this will be Christmas movies, Harry Potter night, or series of the Jaws. This is a perfect scenario for those busy couples, who simply can’t find time for each other during working weeks. The New Year’s Eve will turn into a cozy cuddling night! A few years ago we were watching VS show all night.

How about making the night a little bit more inspiring? Romantic dinner is a cliche, let’s add some spice to it? A simple dinner can turn into an adventure if you style it in a special way:

– It can be a dinner of Mr&Mrs Smith (special clothes and mysterious glance are required:),

– Dinner with no electricity and no phones (For those who is brave enough to shut down cell-phones and spend a wonderful night with burning candles and soul-touching talkings).

-If it is not too cold outside, why not spending the night in a park? Have a light dinner with mulled wine and blankets. Burn sparkles or even a sky lantern with your wishes on it.

And there is always a chance to go and join celebrating crowd later on. That will make you feel the spirit of the New Year from head to toes.

Another activity outside is a marathon to neighborhood bars. The point of the game is to visit as many places as you can, congratulate more people and make new friends! I’m sure they will be full of other celebrating people.

Turning any night of the year into an adventure is not hard. Everything depends on us. Let’s make the whole year memorable and joyful!

Happy New Year!
